How AGT Equipment Ships Heavy Machinery
Share
Buying heavy equipment online requires a high degree of trust. At AGT Equipment, we’ve built a shipping and fulfillment process that’s dependable, fully documented, and completely transparent, so you’ll always know exactly what happens after you place your order.
This guide walks you through how your equipment travels from our warehouse to your worksite, what delivery options are available, and what you need to prepare in advance.
Step 1: Order Confirmation & Scheduling
As soon as your order is confirmed and payment is received, our logistics team immediately begins coordinating with our licensed freight partners. Most orders are processed within 3 business days, unless unexpected issues arise with the carrier.
We operate warehouses in California, Houston, and Chicago, and deliver to the contiguous United States and Canada — excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
Large machinery like mini excavators and skid steers is shipped via T-Force, while smaller items are sent via FedEx or UPS. You’ll automatically receive tracking information as soon as your order leaves our facility.
Step 2: Machine Preparation & Packaging
Every piece of equipment undergoes a full inspection and functional test before it is dispatched.
For machines weighing 1–2 tons:
- The unit is driven onto a wooden pallet
- It is securely strapped down to prevent movement
- It is fully wrapped in protective material to shield against scratches and weather
This careful preparation keeps the machine stable, safeguards its hydraulic components, and minimizes the risk of cosmetic damage during transit.
For larger machines, we work with specialized carriers to deliver directly to your address.
Step 3: Transit & Delivery Timeline
Once T-Force picks up your large machine, delivery generally takes 5–8 business days, depending on your location and the terminal’s schedule. Please note these are estimates, and delays can occur due to weather, traffic, or carrier operations.
When your shipment arrives at the terminal closest to you, the carrier will contact you to arrange final delivery or pickup.
Step 4: Unloading & Pickup Options
Given the weight of this machinery, it’s essential to plan for unloading in advance. You have three choices:
-
On-site Forklift or EquipmentIf you have a forklift or other suitable unloading gear on-site, the carrier can deliver the machine directly to your preferred location.
-
Terminal PickupIf you don’t have unloading equipment, you can collect the machine yourself from the nearest freight terminal using a trailer. The carrier will assist in arranging this when they get in touch.
-
Lift Gate Service (Optional)If neither option works for you, we offer a lift gate service for an additional fee. You can add this service to your order during checkout.
Important Shipping Policies You Should Know
To ensure a smooth delivery and protect both parties, please review these key policies:
- You must inspect your shipment before signing the Bill of Lading. Any visible damage must be noted and co-signed by both you and the driver. Failure to do so will release the carrier from liability.
- You must notify AGT Equipment of any damage, defects, or discrepancies within 3 business days of delivery.
- AGT Equipment’s responsibility begins when the carrier signs the Bill of Lading at pickup and ends when you sign for delivery.
- Personal items cannot be included with or attached to your equipment shipment.
- Delivery addresses must be valid physical locations (PO boxes are not accepted).
